Sr Elsje Burger

CEO/ Advanced Wound & Stomal Therapist

Sr Elsje Burger – Since graduating from nursing college in Welkom in 1984, I have worked in Cardiothoracic ward at Unitas Hospital, Welkom Provincial Hospital before moving to work at the Goldfields Regional Hospital, Afterwards I became a Clinical Upgrading and Building Coordinator for both Provincial and Private Hospitals. I then worked for NetCare Hospital in Rustenburg. I opened my first private practice in Rustenburg in 2003 before being asked to manage the Medical & Maternity Wards at NetCare Margate Hospital. After years at the hospital I saw a need for wound care and opened a private wound clinic specialising in wound care, advanced wound care, diabetic wounds and stoma care.

Since graduating with a Bachelor of Nursing Science from the university of Pretoria in 2020, I have developed a keen interest in wound care. I have actively refined my skill and knowledge in the specialized area through continuous practical experience and ongoing education since 2021. My commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by completing advanced wound care training through the Foundation of Professional Development (FPD) and Liezl Naude Eloquent Advanced Wound Care courses. My objective is to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care that adheres to established best practices. I am grateful for the opportunity to leverage my passion for learning and facilitate healing within a supportive and progressive environment.

I have worked in a wide variety of companies and finally settled in the medical field where I have worked for the last 20 years. The last 7 years I have worked for Sr Elsje Burger, working my way from Receptionist to Practice Manager.

Stock Manager

I am the Stock Manager, the person responsible for making sure that there is stock for the wound clinic as well as for Sr Elsje Burger’s stoma and incontinence patients who receive stock every month. I have been with Sr Burger’s clinic’s for close to 5 years.

Cher Ludick

Reception Manager

I am the Reception manager with experience working in reception at Lotus Advanced Wound and Stoma Care, I am responsible for front desk co-ordination, appointments and patient enquiries. I have 6 years experience in reception. My strengths are efficiency and friendly services.

Carol Madlala

Patient Care Assistant

After school I completed my basic nursing care focusing on Mother to Mother prevention, campaigning for the better treatment of mothers and children with HIV and becoming a HIV counsellor, before realizing there was a need for home care for patients with post op needs therefore furthering my studies and joining the team at Lotus Advanced Wound and Stoma Care.
